Shedding one´s skin is a natural process for artists. Also in the Man Rec camp we recently saw artistic morphings: Edu K´s new heavy metal project is called UDEK, DJ Beware now also releases under the moniker Mr.Ho on his house-imprint Klasse Recordings, which he co-runs with Lucas Hunter, one half of Zombie Disco Squad. And now it´s time for our Man FM host, the DJ and producer formerly known as Tim Turbo, to re-name himself as TRRBO.
After remarkable international achievements in the global bass scene with his former project Tim Turbo (the infamous “Hush” single feat. Spoek and Gnucci Banana), Jakob Merten aka TRRBO will surely squeeze his new passion to an equal, if not even bigger success. Grown up in Berlin’s techno and house clubs and then trapped by the variety of England’s bass music, TRRBO is right in the middle of an emerging scene that combines these influences to an eclectic minmalistic sound that is made for the future.
